Day 2-7

Each day, explore the islands and their remarkable wildlife. The exact routing depends on the National Park Service, and the day-to-day itinerary is somewhat flexible to take advantage of conditions or wildlife activity and photo ops.

 

Day 8

Disembark ship in Guayaquil and travel to Lima, Peru

 

Day 9

Lima/Cusco/Sacred Valley of the Inca

Fly over the Andes to Cusco. Upon arrival, drive through the fabled and fertile Urubamba Valley to Moray – a visually stunning Inca site known for its agricultural terraces. After lunch, you may choose to experience a local market.

 

Day 10

Sacred Valley

Spend the day exploring the archaeological sites and culture of the Sacred Valley. Continue to Ollantaytambo where massive stone walls stand sentry over a thriving Inca community. Visit a working, family-owned hacienda and learn about Inca weaving traditions.

 

Day 11

Sacred Valley/Machu Picchu

Board the morning train to Machu Picchu and enjoy your stay at the historic Belmond Sanctuary Lodge, located next to the World Heritage site. Explore the iconic site over the two days in the company of local guides, and linger after day-visitors are long gone.

 

Day 12

Machu Picchu/Cusco

Awaken this morning at Machu Picchu, where you can choose to take an early hike to the Sun Gate before returning to Cusco.

 

Day 13

Cusco

In the morning, explore the treasures of Cusco. Then, visit nearby Sacsayhuaman, where impressive terrace walls command views over the city. In the afternoon, relax, shop or visit Cusco's many churches and museums. 

 

Day 14

Cusco/Lima

Return to the coastal city of Lima – Peru’s capital – and take part in a tour that includes unique opportunities to interact with the local culture.

Day 2

Day 3

Travel to Ngorongoro

First, visit the students and staff at a local school to gain insight into the challenges and rewards of Tanzanian life. Then, continue to a luxury safari camp in a prime location on the rim of the crater. After lunch, visit a Maasai village and learn from locals about Maasai culture.

 

Day 4

Wildlife on the Crater floor

Enjoy a spectacular game drive before other visitors have arrived on the crater floor. Search for the abundant wildlife, including rare species like black rhinos and cheetahs. 

 

 

Day 5

To Olduvai Gorge and the Central Serengeti

Day 6

Hot air balloon safari above the Serengeti

Take advantage of the clear light of dawn to gain some altitude and get a unique perspective on the wildlife of the Serengeti. Touch back down for a champagne breakfast and a morning game drive. Then, later in the afternoon, head out again for more encounters with the abundant wildlife.

 

Day 7

Follow the game across the Serengeti

Explore the more remote regions of the Serengeti. Your camp’s setting affords unmatched game viewing at any time of year.

 

Day 8

Serengeti National Park

Experience another day of heart-pounding morning and afternoon game drives.
