Drift Snorkeling in the Seychelles

TRAVEL JOURNAL

Feb. 19, 2020 - Aldabra Atoll in the Seychelles

In February of 2020, I had the pleasure of joining my dear friend, Julia, on an expedition cruise to the Seychelles. Exploring remote islands in the Indian Ocean and observing the local marine and bird life was the main focus of the 16-day journey.

On at least eight of our days at sea, we had the opportunity to snorkel twice a day. With so much time in the sun and water, you might think it would get tiring, but the abundance and variety of sea life was truly amazing, so there was always something interesting to see.

One major highlight of the trip: Drift snorkeling along the Aldabra Atoll. Just imagine floating along an invisible conveyor belt in a giant aquarium, and you might begin to understand how spectacular it was.

Luckily, you don't have to imagine it ... you can experience it (virtually) for yourself. Just watch the video below.
